baby lambs

To catch up we ended February with a visit to the "lambing sheds" at Mike's aunts house. They have hundreds of sheep and we got a small glimpse of what work they had to do for all the baby lambs. We didn't make it out last year so this was Mason's first time. Of course baby animals is nothing new for either of our kids. Their babysitter has sheep and pigs. So they know all about feeding the babies. Here are some pictures of the fun. The boys loved it.

In the mix with all the baby lambs they had one baby goat. Mike really took a liking to it.

After the babies are born they are brought to the sheds to keep them warm and make sure they are eating enough. When they are ready to go back outside they are numbered along with the mom so they know who goes with which ewe. They got to paint some of the numbers, with dads help of course.

This was just a really cute lamb and it's mom.

Mason was holding this lamb and when he was done he gave it a kiss. I of course didn't get the original kiss on film so we had to reenact it a few times to get a good picture. It was very cute. He was so sincere the first time.

Weston was helping out by feeding the hungry lambs that had to be bottle feed.
